Teresa Byington, PhD is a Professor/Specialist in Early Childhood Education at the University of Nevada, Reno (Cooperative Extension). Her research interests include early childhood literacy, professional development (training and coaching) and the social-emotional development of young children. She is a frequent presenter at local, state and national conferences. Teresa is the Principle Investigator (PI) for several grant funded projects including the Infant Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA)/Coaching Program and Nevada READY! Professional Development (training and coaching) grants. She facilitates a Leadership Community of Practice, Early Childhood Trainer Professional Learning Community and Coaching Community of Practice. She is the author of the book, Lose the Lecture: Engaging Approaches to Early Childhood Professional Learning published by Gryphon House.
